Here we see a photo from Jakarta, dated somewhere in 1974. Let's see how many cars that you can identify!
Seriously, i don't know a single model i could recognize except a small jeep behind the broken down truck.

Yep, all I can identify is the Jeep, though it could be a knock off.

Yeah.
I believe that's an english car near the truck. I don't know why it screams morris/austin to me.

Hmm let's see, that bus is '68-'71 Dodge D-series and those three panel vans are Morris Minors. That broken car is Willys Jeep and I think that sedan next to the Jeep is Fiat 1100.

This be a Morris 1000, or maybe a Morris traveller. The traveller was the estate version, although this has a slightly higher roof.
I think next to that (left) is a Mahindra jeep, but thats a wild guess

Well, i don't know it's a Morris Minor. All i know is in Indonesia it's called the Oplet.
It's a bit like an London black cab, except it seats 10-12 and you don't know who sat next to you. Those Oplets are still arround waaaaaaay until 1998 if my memory is right, when it's replaced by Toyota Kijang and Izusu Panther and Suzuki Carry..

This should be a Fiat 1100. That grill style was used in mid 50's. I have vague memory that they were also license built somewhere in Asia.

Well, the roof is higher because in Indonesia that car known as the Oplet. It's a bit like Indonesian version of the Jeepney:

Well, interesting. I thought it was some kind of saloon made by British Leyland.
There's a fiat factory in indonesia, but it was opened in 1981 to build an Indonesian version of Fiat 127 called the Fiat Malvinas.

There's another one on the right, below the two people on the corner of the fence.

Willys Jeep is that big?
Holy cow. I never seen that in my life.

Yeah, 2 of them!
Maybe because there's so many morris they're sort of lost in there.

Wow, love that. Wonder if any of them made their way to the UK. Would certainly stand out amongst the many Morris Minors and Minor vans etc.

Look at all the Morrises! I'll bet you'd be hard pressed to find even one British car in the mix if you took a photo from the same position today.
Who was the forced BL merger supposed to benefit, again?

Yeah. I mean, in the past those morris were cheap.
The cheapest "british" car you can buy today is a Mini, and even that thing is expensive.
